The essay as a genre in the tradition of Montaigne stages the inadequacies of attempts to grasp at objects and what connects us to them and them to us and us to each other, and then slings away the safety wheels by wondering: who we are anyway? But what happens to the essay in the age of 'hyperobjects' (Morton 2013) like global warming? This essay examines how the anti-methodical techniques of the essay (personal, lyric) might be placed to respond to life in the Anthropocene, when the 'I' of the essayist finds itself in increasingly uncharted waters, when 'nature' itself, let alone 'human nature', begin to look like quaint conceptual knick-knacks, and when humans can no longer claim special ontological status over nonhumans. By locating the lyric essay as heterotopia, ‘We might as well call it a boat’ offers a model of the form as a site of juxtaposition, of otherness, of crisis, of non-conformance, of resistance and of transformation that adds to the still burgeoning discourse on the lyric essay in Australia, making a significant contribution to discourse on the essay in an Asia-Pacific context. By adopting the lyric essay form to map itself as a heterotopic site, building on the form’s tradition to break with conventional linear structures, blend styles of writing, resist easy interpretation and its history as a vehicle for representing pain and trauma (Mintz 2011), it reveals the conventions and potential of the lyric essay with the intention of encouraging other writers to experiment with the form. ‘We might as well call it a boat’ creatively demonstrates the lyric essay as heterotopia. By examining the parallels between the established conventions of the lyric essay and Foucault’s notion of heterotopia, ‘We might as well call it a boat’ seeks to demonstrate the complexities of this evolving form from an Australian context. And to anybody who stopped after seasons 7 or 8 you should jump back in at season 9.Keywords: Creative writing – Lyric essay – Heterotopia – The Walking Dead Over the last two decades US lyric essayists have defined the lyric essay form (D’Agata & Tall 1997 Miller & Paola 2004 Seneca Review 2007 D’Agata 2015) to the point where the term ‘lyric essay’ has fallen out of favour (D’Agata 2015) yet, here in Australia, the form has yet to really find its place. To anybody looking for a show to watch on Netflix I highly recommend TWD, you will be glad you watched such a captivating show. And so far season 10 seems to be even better. Breaking Bad, and the Winds of Winter from GoT. When someone introduces a cult like whispers, who have tremendous potential to play with, this unit is stuck with playing Jack and Jill went up the hill. I probably hope the director or the production Dept wanted to over this show and shot these episodes in a hurry. Season 9 half way to Season 10: Another epic way not only to destroy the characters that were built all these years but also to destroy the show. #THE WALKING DEAD 6X13 THE SAME BOAT WATCH FULL#You can easily watch full episodes of The Walking Dead TV Series. #THE WALKING DEAD 6X13 THE SAME BOAT WATCH SERIES#Top Netflix TV Shows Online, The Walking Dead TV Series Download HD quality full Streaming english subbed.
